The Family without Borders

The Family without Borders

Fortunate People – I

A young couple have a baby girl. The baby turns 6 months old. And what do they decide to do? They decide to travel at a stretch for 6 months around the Black Sea to go to ten countries. They take a car overflowing with all the baby related stuff and off they go to live their dream. They successfully complete the six month travel. After a few months, they have their second baby girl. And she turns 6 months old. And do I have to tell you what they decide to do now? They travel for six months again. This time it is Mexico to Panama covering 8 countries. That’s crazy, you say? I totally agree.

I take great pleasure in introducing to you The Family without Borders

Thomas – The dad. German. A photographer.

Anna – The mom. Polish. A journalist.

Hanna – The adorable first baby. Half German. Half Polish. Hates good-byes.

Mila – The super cute second baby. Half German. Half Polish.

I discovered their blog a year or so ago. If I say I was thoroughly fascinated, that will be an understatement. I sat, read two years’ worth posts at one go and only then did I even turn around. I was smitten. In many ways, I still am. This family is stress-buster, motivation and many other nice things. And Hanna!! How I love her! She always puts a smile on my face. The babies are growing up in the best possible way. Because a decade in some school wouldn’t teach you what you learn from travelling, meeting new/different/all sorts of people.

Most of us plan to do things before we get married, before we have a kid, before the kid starts going to school… the boundaries and restrictions we set for ourselves are unlimited. This family laughs at us, calls us fools and makes us believe it too. We connect things that are completely unrelated, complicate things and convince ourselves that our dreams are too big to live. How silly!

Anna beautifully says…

We believe that what a baby of Hanna’s age needs most is: food, sleep and… happy parents. The view outside of the window can change but her teddy bear is the same, the songs in our car are the same, the way we play together in the morning is the same. She is discovering the world very intensively: her first meeting with the sea, falling in love with dirty, homeless dogs in Romania, the sound of cows, sheep and birds.

That simple! ;)

Anna and Thomas have always been travelers. Having a baby or two did not stop them from continuing what they have always done and sometimes dreamed of. Like they say… If you want something bad enough you will find a way to get it.

I can go on talking about them for pages. But that will spoil the beauty of discovering things on your own. You are allowed to spend hours in their blog. :D So go have a look at their blog. Get inspired! And let me know what you think.
